Shakespeare, Henry. Secrets of Successful Fishing. 1962. Dell Publishing Co., Inc. New York. A very comprehensive, compact field guide to all types of fishing from a mid-century American perspective. Describes equipment, how to create balanced tackle outfits, and fishing methods. Included many diagrams showing how to cast, where to locate fish, and various types of lures. Still (in 2026) remarkably current, particularly when working with vintage tackle. Used copies are easily and inexpensively available on used book sites like Abe Books; highly recommended.
